What is the importance of our IFS Food Certification?
The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) is a benchmarking organization that provides thought leadership and guidance on food safety management system controls necessary to assure the safety of the food supply chain. Through GFSI’s benchmarking process, the organization recognizes different food safety management schemes when it meets internationally recognized food safety requirements. However, GFSI is not a scheme in itself and it does not carry out any accreditation or certification activities. Gold Coast Ingredients is certified with a GFSI recognized scheme through International Featured Standards (IFS) Food, a world recognized standard of third-party auditors. IFS Food is equivalent to other GFSI recognized auditors including Safe Quality Food (SQF) and BRC Global Standards. This audit sets strict requirements on internal areas including Senior Management Responsibility, Quality and Food Safety Management Systems, Resource Management, Production Processes, Measurements, Analysis, Improvements and Food Defense.
